⚾ This Week’s Theme: Small Wins Lead to Big Missions

We’re a young team in a tough league, but baseball is a game of managing failure and finding growth.
It’s not about being perfect. It’s about stacking small wins, trusting the mission of development, and choosing lightness over pressure—day after day.
🚀 This week we keep swinging with purpose and stacking bricks.
📖 What I’m Reading – Chatter by Ethan Kross
In Chatter, Ethan Kross explains how our inner voice can either fuel us or freeze us, depending on how we frame the moment. In Chapter 4, he highlights two crucial questions we subconsciously ask ourselves during stress:
1️⃣ What is required of me right now?
2️⃣ Do I have the resources to handle it?
Chatter by Ethan Kross
If we doubt ourselves, we see the moment as a threat. If we believe we’re capable, we see it as a challenge.
The way we talk to ourselves about setbacks completely changes the outcome. Challenge framing leads to better focus, better resilience, and better results.
💡 Takeaway: The game isn’t just physical—it’s mental. Teach yourself to see pressure as a challenge, not a threat. That’s how you win from the inside out.
🎥 What I’m Watching – Lightness Over Limitation: Coaching the Shaolin Way
In a recent Diary of a CEO episode, Master Shi Heng Yi from Shaolin Temple Europe dropped a truth bomb:
👉 Every thought, word, and action either creates lightness (freedom, flow, confidence) or density (pressure, frustration, fear).
On the baseball field, it's crystal clear:
Strike out ➡️ carry anger into the next inning = density.
Strike out ➡️ reset, refocus, lift your teammates = lightness.
Same event. Different choice. Different consequences.

Master Shi Heng Yi
Coaching Mission: Help players recognize their emotional patterns and choose lightness, no matter what happens between the lines.
💡 Takeaway: Lightness isn’t luck—it’s a learned skill. Choose actions that free you, not ones that weigh you down.
🧠 What I’m Learning – The Small Wins of Odysseus
Think about Odysseus—10 years of storms, battles, and setbacks trying to get home after winning the Trojan War. He didn’t muscle through it by brute strength. He stayed alive by strategy, patience, and small wins.
Resilience isn’t flashy.
It’s quiet.
It’s showing up for the mission every day, even when it feels endless.
💡 Takeaway: Progress isn’t always loud. It’s hidden in every small win, every steady step toward why you started in the first place.

It took 10-years for Odysseus to get home from Troy to Ithaca
✍️ What I’m Writing – National Team Talent Card: Elite Mindset
🧠 Elite Mindset Talent Card Set is finished and ready to roll!
This 7-card series trains players to think like champions:
✅ Short reflections to sharpen focus.
✅ Bold mindset cues to stay relentless.
✅ Repeatable mental habits to build mental armor, not just motivation.
Below is card#7 in the deck on ‘Elite Mindset’

This set is about training your brain the same way you train your swing—with precision, repetition, and purpose.
💡 Takeaway: Talent wins games. Mental armor wins championships.
💬 This Week’s Reminder to my players, and to myself:
Winning is great.
But winning hearts, habits, and mindsets is the real victory.
One small win at a time.
