⚾ This Week’s Theme: Pack Mentality & Progress
📖 What I’m Reading – Atomic Habits by James Clear I’m still diving into Atomic Habits, and Chapter 16, "How to Stick with Good Habits Every Day," hit me hard this week.
Simple Rule: Never Miss Twice
Key Takeaways:
One of the most satisfying feelings is progress. Habit tracking keeps you focused on the process rather than just the result.
Perfection isn’t possible. Life will interrupt—travel, illness, family—but the rule I live by is: Never miss twice. Miss a day? Get back on track immediately.
Even “bad” workouts matter. Sluggish days keep the compound gains you’ve built intact. As Charlie Munger says, “The first rule of compounding: Never interrupt it unnecessarily.”
Measurement is key—track habits that align with the identity you’re building. Remember, “We optimize for what we measure.”
💡 Takeaway: Success is about showing up consistently, especially when it’s tough. Never miss twice.
🎥 What I’m Watching – Monster Wolf (Nat Geo Wild)
I’ve been researching wolf packs to inspire the Bulls’ offense. This documentary on bold wolf behavior in Vancouver Island.

Alpha Wolf
Here’s my vision:
The Pack Offense.
“The strength of the pack is the wolf, and the strength of the wolf is the pack.”
For us to succeed, our offense must transform from individual hitters into an elite unit. Our pack identity will rest on four pillars:
1️⃣ Attitude: Supreme confidence. I don’t hope to win—I EXPECT to win.
2️⃣ Approach: Knowing my role in the team and fulfilling it with precision.
3️⃣ Intensity: Competing like our hair is on fire. Wave after wave, we NEVER stop coming.
4️⃣ Toughness: Attitude, approach, and intensity in the face of adversity.
We’re not just here to play; we’re here to dominate. It’s about sacrifice, freedom from fear, and playing unafraid to crash and burn.
💡 Takeaway: Success isn’t about one wolf; it’s about the pack. Let’s play with the freedom to be fearless!
🧠 What I’m Learning – Proverbs 1:8 & Exodus 20:12
This week’s reflection: “Honor your father and mother.”
Exodus 20:12 reminds us to respect and consider the wise instruction of our parents, a commandment that comes with a promise. In Proverbs 1:8, Solomon echoes this, urging us to follow parental wisdom.
As a father and a coach, I see the dual role here—honoring wisdom from above while also raising the next generation in discipline and instruction.
💡 Takeaway: Honoring wisdom isn’t just obedience—it’s about showing respect, seeking understanding, and acting with humility.
✍️ What I’m Writing – Bullet Journal Progress
I’m 14 days into my 75-Hard Challenge and fine-tuning my Bullet Journal, which has become my ultimate habit tracker.
2025 Journal
Here’s why it works for me:
✅ It’s simple and visual—every checkmark is evidence of progress.
✅ It keeps me accountable—one glance shows whether I’ve kept my streak alive.
✅ It’s satisfying—seeing the chain grow fuels my motivation.
💡 Takeaway: Habit tracking is a game-changer. Don’t break the chain, and never miss twice!
