⚾ This Week’s Theme: Preseason Preparation & Visualization

📖 What I’m Reading – Inner Excellence by Jim Murphy
Everyone has a story. You are the author. You decide what moments matter and how they shape your path.
One of the biggest takeaways this week? The power of belief and visualization.

🏆 Rewriting Your Story
Your subconscious listens to everything you say—so speak truthfully about your past but keep it in the past.
If you say, “I’m struggling with pressure”, your brain finds proof to confirm it. But if you say, “In the past, I struggled with pressure, but I’m improving every day”, you set the stage for growth.
🏆 Visualizing Success
In 1992, Pepperdine’s baseball team watched the College World Series on loop in their locker room. By season’s end, they weren’t just imagining playing in Omaha—they were champions.
Texas softball player Callista Balko struck out 9 times against Cat Osterman—until she didn’t. She had visualized the exact game-winning hit for months. When the moment came, she was ready.
💡 Takeaway: See it before it happens. Speak your truth in a way that builds your future.
🎥 What I’m Watching – Stephen Curry: 105 Straight Threes 🎯
In 2021, Stephen Curry made 105 three-pointers in a row. Watching it feels unreal—like at some point, he has to miss. But he doesn’t.
🔥 How Does That Happen?
Repetition & Training: His muscle memory is locked in from thousands of reps.
Self-Talk & Affirmations: What is he saying to himself after each shot? Likely nothing but pure confidence.
🔢 The Odds?
If one of my players fielded 105 balls in a row, the success rate would be 64.3%. That means there’s a 1 in 3 chance of making an error. And yet, Steph eliminates the error entirely.
💡 Takeaway: You don’t get to superhuman without relentless reps, mindset, and mastery of the small details.
🧠 What I’m Learning – Paying the Price for Greatness
This week, I visited a school in Lauterach while continuing my 75-Hard Challenge—waking up at 3 AM, crushing my morning routine, and leaving the house by 7:30 AM.
It might sound inconvenient, but greatness has a price.
Fun and Games
🏋️♂️ Champions override their natural craving for comfort. They train their minds to:
✅ Push past the desire to hit snooze.
✅ Accept that hard work isn’t always fun, but the results are.
✅ Sacrifice comfort for something bigger.
And yet—there’s still joy in the journey. The smiles from the kids I coach remind me that this isn’t just about personal discipline. It’s about impact.
💡 Takeaway: Greatness requires sacrifice. But when you love what you do, even the grind becomes a gift.
✍️ What I’m Writing – Training Protocol for North Carolina 🇺🇸
Heading to the U.S. with the team will be eye-opening. Our young guys will get a real look at what sacrifice looks like for kids their age who also play baseball “for fun” but are grinding toward the next level.

Non-profit organization we will work with while in North Carolina
Here’s what we’ll focus on:
⚾ Two practices a day.
📖 Off-field work.
⏳ Time management.
It’s not all sunshine and rainbows. We’re there to learn, train, and get better. The work we put in now will pay off when the season begins.
🌟 Giving Back – Wood for Warriors
While in North Carolina, we’ll also be doing some outreach work to give back in appreciation of the generosity we’ve received. As a U.S. Naval Veteran, it’s important for me to highlight the value of service and outreach to our young players.
Teaching Young Athletes the Power of Outreach
Baseball isn’t just about skill—it’s about character. Teaching young players about outreach and service helps them understand that success isn’t just measured in stats, but in how we impact others.
By giving back, they learn:
✅ Gratitude – Appreciating the opportunities they’ve been given.
✅ Leadership – Understanding that true leaders serve others.
✅ Perspective – Seeing life beyond the game and recognizing the struggles others face.
Outreach builds team culture, responsibility, and a mindset of contribution—traits that make better players and better people. The lessons they learn off the field will shape the men they become beyond the game.
We’ll be supporting Wood for Warriors, a non-profit dedicated to serving veterans by providing and delivering firewood to their homes. Their mission ensures that veterans in need receive a full load of firewood annually to keep their homes warm. This is a small way for us to contribute and show appreciation for those who’ve served.
💡 Takeaway: Every moment is an opportunity—to learn, to grow, and to give back. Will you take it?
⚾ This Week’s Theme: Preseason Preparation & Visualization
Visualize success before it happens. (Balko’s hit, Pepperdine’s mindset, Curry’s threes)
Pay the price for greatness. (3 AM wake-ups, training beyond comfort, relentless focus)
Make every rep, every moment, every opportunity count.
